Biker hurt in crash

A MOTORCYCLIST suffered a broken leg a in crash in Holloway on Wednesday.
The biker, 25, came off his high-powered machine in the mid-afternoon crash in Holloway Road, at the junction with Liverpool Road.
An eye-witness, a 24-year-old pizza parlour worker, said: “He slumped to the floor and started shouting: ‘I’m not going to die, I’m not going to die’.”
Arjun Singh, 20, who works at Printarama, a nearby shop, said: “I came out of the shop to see what was going on and there was a guy yelling: ‘Help me, help me’. There were already a lot of other people, including another biker, there to help.”
He was taken away by ambulance with paramedics using neck supports to prevent head injuries. At the Whittington Hospital he was treated for a broken leg and cuts which may result in nerve damage.
The southern end of Holloway Road was closed for two hours as traffic investigation officers examined the scene. There were no arrests.
