Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 11 May 2007

Gun crime paralysis

ISLINGTON Labour would like to see the council take a pro-active approach on gun crime. Why can we not work with the police on a gun amnesty to take some of these weapons out of circulation, for example?
Many residents know where the hot-spots are. The council’s licensing officers should be working with police to shut down the clubs and pubs where much of the trouble comes from.
The Lib Dem-run council seems paralysed in the face of a real problem, and unable to make Islington a cleaner, greener, safer borough.
CLLR LISA SPALL
Labour, Caledonian ward
