Islington Tribune - by DAVID ST GEORGE
Published: 27 April 2007

‘I was shot as I walked on estate’

A MAN has described to a jury how he was shot from point-blank range when visiting a Finsbury Park estate.
Motor mechanic Shane Johnson, 25, whose Islington address was not revealed, told the Old Bailey on Tuesday how he was shot in the abdomen as he walked through the Woodberry Down estate in September last year.
Mr Johnson said: “I was on the pavement and saw some men coming towards me. They had their heads down and hoodies up.
“I remember saying ‘What are you hiding your faces for?’ then I was shot.”
He has undergone several major operations, but remains permanently crippled.
Tony Adetuni, 19, an alleged member of the Stamford Hill Crew, denies attempted murder.
The trial continues.
