Arsenal bosses grilled

RESIDENTS and businesses near Arsenal’s new stadium grilled club bosses last night (Thursday) over the effects of match-day parking and a flimsy transport infrastructure.
The Arsenal Liaison Committee was set up following the competition last year of the 60,000 capacity Emirates stadium, in Ashburton Grove, Holloway.
The 45 organisations invited by the club to attend the conference include the Bryantwood Road Action Group, Isledon Village tenants’ and residents’ association, Islington Council, Transport for London and the police.
Complaints include traffic chaos and problems caused by the closure of Holloway Road and Drayton Park stations on match days following promises to upgrade both that were not kept.
Last night’s (Thursday’s) meeting is he second such gathering, with the last of the annual events happening last March. Arsenal has insisted it will focus on transport problems after sorting out stadium management issues.
