Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 30 March 2007

Scrap this tax

I AM tired of being told Gordon Brown has cut our taxes. Not only has the 10p income tax rate now doubled to 20p, but Labour has done nothing to end the unfair council tax.
Islington’s council tax may be lower than some other boroughs but the tax itself is unfair. Pensioners and tenants can’t afford to pay high council tax just because of the value of their home.
After 10 years of Labour we still have the council tax. When will we see an end to it?
JOHN ANDERSON
Noel Road, N1
