Just asset stripping

• FLOGGING off more than 200 properties is Islington Council’s latest money-making wheeze. The Lib Dems are risking the special character of our borough for short-term financial gain.
The council’s budget showed there is no need for a sale to raise funds. Even if there was, a similar level of funds could be raised by borrowing against rent from the properties. What we are seeing is asset stripping, pure and simple.
