TABLE-toppers The Heath (above) are enjoying a magnificent start to the new season after netting three wins out of three in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League.

Made up of players from across Camden and Islington, the under-9s side were back among the goals on Saturday as they beat Sport London Benfica 8-2 to record their biggest win of the campaign so far.

Striker Elias Costa-Event put in a clinical display of finishing as he helped himself to a hat-trick, while Danny Cochrane struck twice.

Jesse James, Aaron Sinclair and Teddy Jones were also all on target as The Heath moved three points clear at the top of the ‘B’ league.

Head coach Stephen O’Brennan is delighted his players are putting what they learn in training to maximum effect. “We’ve got over 30 kids in our under-9s age group and I’m trying to get them all used to playing the Barcelona way,” he said. “Passing the ball around, keeping the ball and playing as a team. The side in the ‘B’ league are really playing with confidence. They’re all little stars.”
