A MAN was last night (Wednesday) fighting for his life after being dragged under a bus at a pedestrian crossing in Holborn.

Firefighters cut him free after he became trapped under the number 19 bus in Theobald’s Road following the collision at around 2.30pm.

The road was closed in both directions for more than two hours after the man, said to be in his 50s, was rushed to the trauma centre at the Royal London Hospital.

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said his injuries were “very serious”.

Witnesses said the man was hit as he made his way over a pedestrian crossing and was dragged about 20 feet down the road.
