RIOTS: Detectives recover weapons and bike shop's looted cash tills

Police search in Queen's Crescent

SUNDAY AUGUST 14, 2011

BY RICHARD OSLEY

POLICE believe they have recovered the cash tills taken from a bike shop looted during rioting in Camden on Monday night.

The tills from Evans Cycles, one of the worst hit shops during disorder in Chalk Farm Road, were found during a search of the Denton Estate in Prince of Wales Road yesterday. During the same search officers took away iron bars, a crow-bar and a CS spray canister.

It was the second find of the day - search officers had earlier taken a metal detector to flowerbeds in Queen's Crescent. Hidden three inches below the soil, police said they found 12 knives, metal bars and a substance thought to be cannabis. No arrests have been made.
