RIOTS: Arrest stand-off in Queen's Crescent

TUESDAY AUGUST 16, 2011

POLICE surrounded a house in Queen's Crescent late last night (Monday) as an attempt to arrest a teenager developed into a stand-off when the suspect ran onto a roof. Searchlights from a helicopter beamed down on Bassett Street while officers in riot gear and dog teams waited outside. As crowds developed, police drew back from the scene on safety grounds without making an arrest. The New Journal understands the operation was part of police attempts to arrest people involved in rioting and looting in London last Monday.

How it's done in Poland

Few days ago a couple of guys tried to start a copycat "riot" operation in Chorzow, Poland. Police send two uniformed officers who immediately got under attack. In defence they shot twice in the air, and as the attackers refused to stop, one was shot in the leg. Then they got arrested and that was the end of riots.

I just wish that in all the other fields we were so much more effective than UK.

TEENAGER QUEENS CRECENT

should send in the canadian mounties they allways get there man or as arnold would say I WILL BE BACK

So all those police

So all those police resources, a helicopter for over an hour etc and you didnt even get your man becasue he ran on a roof? Epic fail.
