Age concern

• ACTION in the High Court against those under 18 being contained for hours on end out of doors, even in late November temperatures, without food or water and without charge: I would agree (Kettle cops ‘had flawed intelligence’, July 8).

I wonder why such action is not taken to cover those over 18.

The police, it seems, need to be reminded that their purpose is to enable and not to prevent the public to move freely along the Queen’s highway.
