Ambassadors welcome the Archbishop – Rowan Williams takes afternoon tea
Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams dropped in on pupils from the Grey Coat Hospital school for afternoon tea this week.
He was given a short tour of the school by members of the Year 9 ambassadors team, Catherine Lyon and Bethany Lees, before sitting in on lessons and taking time out to view plans for the new arts block at the Church of England girls school in Grey Coat Place.
He held a special assembly where he talked to staff and students about understanding freedom, drawing on his experiences as a young man in South Africa, before rounding off his visit with the tea.
