RADICAL, experimental and avant garde, Henry Moore (1898-1986) was one of Britain’s greatest artists. The major exhibition currently at Tate Britain re-asserts his position at the forefront of 20th-century sculpture.

The exhibition reveals the range of Moore’s art – sometimes uncovering  dark, erotically charged dimensions suggesting the influence of Freud and psychoanalytical theories.

Abstract 1930s sculptures and works capturing the political tension and anxiety about the Spanish Civil War and the approach to the Second World are also on show.

Henry Moore is at Tate Britain, Millbank,  SW1,  10am-5.50pm, until August 8,
