Feature: The Big Picture - Exhibition - Albany Wiseman at Curwen Gallery from July 7-26

Published: 30 June, 2011

ARCHITECTURE is a key subject for Albany Wiseman, whose latest one-man exhibition opens at the Curwen Gallery in Fitzrovia next week.

This street scene of Bow Street, Covent Garden, shows off the Royal Opera House to stunning effect, with its classical façade alongside the magnificent iron and glass Paul Hamlyn building, known as the Floral Hall.

He has worked as a professional artist producing drawings, prints and paintings since 1952 and has been a close friend of the Curwen Gallery and Studio for more than 30 years.

He exhibits regular one-man and mixed shows throughout the world and produces limited edition prints of mainly architectural subjects which are in many fine art publications.

His work is in many private and public collections. Since 1990 he has taught painting throughout Europe.

This latest selection of paintings and prints includes new work from Bloomsbury where he now lives and works.

• Albany Wiseman is at the Curwen Gallery, 34 Windmill Street, Fitzrovia, W1, from July 7-26, Monday-Friday 10am-6pm (Thursday 10am-8pm), Saturday 11am-5pm, 020 7323 4700, www.curwengallery.co.uk
