Education Feature: Westminster Adult Education Service - Work-related and practical courses

Published: 25 August, 2011

Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES) has successfully helped individuals to improve their English and maths, launch a new career, boost their skills for work or pursue a personal interest.

No qualifications? No problem.

This year, WAES are offering a range of Foundation Learning Programmes especially for adults with few, or no previous qualifications, or those whohave been out of formal learning for some time.

And this year, there are no tuition fees for many students.

You study a practical work-related subject alongside sharpening your English and maths skills.

Courses are credit-based, which means you achieve in bite-sized pieces during a term or possibly a year.

There are excellent teachers and support staff ready to help you make the most of all that’s on offer and to enable you to succeed, whatever your hopes and ambitions.

A’Jai Felicisimo, who recently completed a BTEC level 2 Fashion Design course, said: “Since completing the course at WAES, I definitely plan to go further in the fashion industry.

I am currently working on my own fashion line, hoping to launch by February 2012 in time for the London Fashion Week.

“While taking the course, I was given an opportunity to intern for Alexander McQueen for four months, working alongside Sarah Burton and Georgina Goodman.

“The experience I gained from both McQueen and WAES has really inspired me to go further.”

This year, there are no tuition fees for many students at Westminster Adult Education Service – for terms and conditions see website: www.waes.ac.uk, or call 020 7297 7297
