Published: 8 September, 2011

SAKS is the UK’s leading hair and beauty group and acknowledged as the UK’s Best Training Provider, having being awarded Beacon Status by the Quality Improvement Agency and all grade ones by the Adult Learning Inspectorate for providing outstanding training.

More than 90 per cent of graduates have gone on to successful employment.

An NVQ Level 2 qualifcation in hairdressing can be achieved in just 26 weeks.

Evening or Saturday courses are also available for qualification in 38 or 52 weeks, learning from some of the industry’s shining stars at the Saks Academies based in Covent Garden.

Bespoke payment plans are available to help spread the cost during the run-up to and throughout courses.

The Fast Track Hairdressing NVQ Level 2 Course for Beginners covers mandatory units such as health & safety, consultation, positive impression, shampooing and conditioning hair, colouring, styling & dressing and cutting.

Saks will give you the  insight into the hairdressing world as well as teach you the skills needed to make you stand out and see you well on your way to a satisfying career.

The course modules are taught by dedicated NVQ educators and include theory, special project demonstrations and hands-on workshops.

You will receive personal guidance and monitoring throughout to ensure you are achieving the learning goals required.

And, you are provided with all the necessary equipment for the course – including an award-winning range of Saksessories styling tools and workbooks.

There is also an interactive website to help with your studies.

One of Saks’ students, Karen Hamilton, said: “I have progressed from an absolute beginner into a confident, fully qualified hairdresser in just 26 weeks! I benefited from being taught by an array of educators, including members of the Saks Art Team, in smaller classes, which meant one to one tuition was always available.

The educators really pushed me into learning different styles and techniques and I now have the confidence to pursue my career.

“My only regret is that I didn’t do this course sooner!”

2011 Course dates:
• Fast Track NVQ Level 2 Beginner Hairdressing Course (26 weeks) starts 26th September
• Saturday NVQ Level 2 Beginner Hairdressing Course (38 weeks) starts 24th September.

Hallmark opportunities for girls

St Paul’s Girls’ School enjoys a reputation for outstanding academic results combined with excellent pastoral care.

Girls are prepared for GCSE and IGCSE courses with alternative school-directed courses for music and art.

Sixth form students study for A-levels, combining this with the school’s own general studies course and a wide range of sports opportunities.

The opportunities taken outside formal lessons are a particular hallmark of a St Paul’s education.

Most of its 100+ clubs and societies are run by pupils for pupils, and new ones are created every year to reflect the developing interests of the student body.

The facilities are some of the best offered by a central London School with a separate Science block and a sixth-form centre.

Art and design benefit from studio and work-shop facilities and Drama enjoys a purpose-built theatre and drama studio where any girl can offer to direct her own production.

Music is a particularly strong aspect of St Paul’s, with well over half of the student body taking instrumental lessons.

Our music wing provides an outstanding performance space and state-of-the-art recording facilities.
