Feature: Exhibition - Adrian Ghenie at Haunch of Venison

Published: 8 September, 2011

LONDON-based Romanian artist Adrian Ghenie is honoured with the first show at the new-look Haunch of Venison, which has reopened in its original home in the Mayfair Yard of that name.

The new gallery features a dozen of his challenging works, with images of Charles Darwin, Josef Mengele (above Dr Josef, oil on canvas, 64 x 70 cm), Francis Bacon, self-portraits and more, with explorations of eugenics, nuclear testing and “portraiture and evil”.

Gallery space is increased to 11,500 sq ft and next month will present a first solo UK show of Iraqi artist Ahmed Alsoudani.
