Feature: The Big Picture - Exhibiton - Contemporary British Art 2012 40 X 40 X 40 at The Millinery Works

The Millinery Work’s annual exhibition – entitled 40 x 40 x 40 because the gallery invites 40 artists to show three works each that are no more than 40cm x 40cm – is currently in full flood.
Along with the paintings, which include watercolours, oils and pastels, there are works in bronze, wood, ceramic and glass.
Of particular interest are a work by Ceri House, who fires paint at a prepared canvas, and some beautiful water images made by Susan Rosenberg with a photographic process
on aluminium. Pictured here is a work by James Mackinnon.
With landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, still lifes and abstracts, every taste is catered for.
The exhibition opened on Tuesday and runs until February 5.
The gallery’s opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 6pm and Sunday noon to 5pm.
