saxophonist/ composer Bret Keen is playing at Lauderdale House, Highgate next Thursday in the last gig of the Jazz in the House summer season. It’s likely to be a lively session.
Bret is an expressive and exciting saxophonist and composer.
While tipping his hat to the masters of the past, he seeks to create his own contemporary sound in both jazz and contemporary music.
At Lauderdale House, he’s performing with his new jazz chamber trio project, Fragments & Gateways. Playing with him in the trio are pianist John Horler and bass-player Alec Dankworth.
The project aims to fuse chamber music and jazz compositions with beautiful arrangements of classic standards
.
The group is planning to launch its CD debut during the autumn.
