The last of this summer’s jazz nights at Lauderdale House on Tuesday may well turn out to be the season’s best. It promises to be an intimate gig: just voice and piano.

Singer Jacqui Dankworth (pictured) can be expected to demonstrate yet again why she’s become one of the country’s most popular jazz vocalists adding to the illustrious musical reputation of the Dankworth family.

She’s being accompanied by her husband Charlie Wood, a fine blues keyboardist from Memphis, Tennessee, now resident in London.

Highlight of their set will be pieces from her forthcoming album, It Happens Quietly.

Much of the material for the album was put together with her father Sir John Dankworth before his death early last year.
