Body of missing man found in canal

A BODY found in the Regent's Canal in the early hours of this morning (Thurs) has been identified as Primrose Hill man John Regan, 30, who went missing after a night out in Camden Town last Wednesday.
Police patrolling the canal saw a body in the water at 3am. A Met spokeswoman said: "Although we await formal identification, we are satisfied that the deceased is 30-year-old John Regan of Chalcot Road, NW1 who had previously been reported missing to police. Next of kin have been informed."
Friends and family of Mr Regan, who worked for a sports betting analysis company in Jamestown Road, Camden Town, had launched a series of appeals for his whereabouts after he was last seen outside Bartok in Chalk Farm Road last Wednesday night.
Police divers began searching the canal yesterday after CCTV traced his last movements to the canal towpath, which was on his route home to Chalcot Road, Primrose Hill.
Police said the death was not being investigated as suspicious at this stage
