Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 26 November 2009

Fare rises are unfair

• SO wobbly Boris Johnson, London’s mayor, wants to put up the fares again in the new year, because of a shortfall of £800million.
The time has now come to question where all of these huge sums of money have gone. This has gone on too long and has got to be stopped.
A better solution is to have a blanket Londonwide fare of 20p on the buses, 30p on the Tubes and 50p on the rail and tram network and combine it with a 150 per cent rise in the services. We have to say no to these price rises and make the system fair for all passengers.
