The extra miles!

Pupils run for sick kids

PUPILS at Gospel Oak Primary School got in their stride to raise money for sick children at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Almost 300 children aged between six and 11 took part in a charity fun run around the school playground, raising a whopping £4,000 in sponsorship money.
Between them the athletes covered more than 1,000km, with many of them managing 2km and 50 children reaching their target of 5km.
On Monday, a cheque for £2,040.50 was presented to a Great Ormond Street representative by pupil Vicky Cole, who is a regular visitor to the hospital. Eight-year-old Vicky, who has cystic fibrosis, ran an impressive 2km.
Prizes were awarded to children who ran the furthest and those who improved their fitness the most. Year 4 pupil Lian Benson received a special award for raising the most money.
