Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 5 November 2009

Crown and US students

• IF there’s such a shortage of council housing in Camden (B&B bill runs into millions, October 29) how come that the Crown Estate, of which I’m a tenant, rents so many of its properties in the Regent’s Park area to American students?
It seems that more and more flats are being misused in this way, when actually the Crown Estate charter states that its properties should be rented out long-term to key workers in the community, people with disabilities and, yes you guessed it, people in need and on benefits?
