Flying the flag for football: Hawks lead Ivory Coast to glory in African Cup of Nations

IVORY Coast flags were flying high on Monday when their team of young stars won the prestigious African Cup of Nations.
Organised by and held at the Winchester Project in Swiss Cottage, the victory belonged to Hampstead Hawks – who were representing the west African country in the day-long five-a-side tournament.
The under-10s side dominated the competition throughout, lifting the title without conceding a single goal thanks to captain and stand-in keeper Callum Smith.
Goals from Joe Johnsson Antoni, Kai Steinson-Brady and Che Ove-Locraine saw Hampstead run out 3-0 winners in the final, beating hosts Winchtonians who were representing Sierra Leone.
