Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 15 October 2009

Architecture of Euston Road

• THERE’S been a fair bit of debate about the proposed rebuild of the recently rediscovered Victorian arch at Euston Station and I agree with Joyce Glasser (Euston Arch? Forget it, October 8) that we don’t want the proposed redevelopment to just copy the existing architecture of Euston Road.
Any redevelopment should not just be based on decorative considerations but must form a big part of the regeneration effort. Looking back at the images of the former station with its magnificent Great Hall and proud Victorian arch, you realise the architectural vandalism that was committed in the 1960s rebuild. Any return, however small, to the golden era of transport and technology is surely welcome.
Will Blair, NW1
