Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 15 October 2009

Evening access to GPs is a key issue

• CAMDEN NHS’s announcement of a 60,000-patient polyclinic in the Kilburn area has aroused confusion for Camden residents west of the Finchley Road and this was reflected in the lively and constructive consultation meeting that I attended in Kilburn.
It has many good things going for it and should cut the need for long trips to hospitals for routine tests. More clarity is needed on what effect it will have on small GP practices beloved by many.
Key will be that this big investment gives people access to GPs late in the evening and on weekends, especially as no walk-in service facility is planned.
Cllr Roger Freeman
Conservative,
Swiss Cottage ward
