Golden blade Soji makes point with his team-mate Fabio in national championships

SKILFUL sabreur Soji Aiyenuro was back among the medals at the weekend when he won gold at the British Cadet and Junior Championships at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Competing for Camden Fencing Club, William Ellis schoolboy Soji beat Harry Boteler 15-10 in the final to win the under-17s cadet title.
In the semis Soji, 15, beat team-mate Fabio Artesi 15-11 in what proved to be his biggest test of the tournament, with Fabio going on to seal a creditable third place finish to secure a bronze medal.
In the junior under-20 ranks, Holloway’s Curtis Miller just missed out on gold when he lost 15-10 to Mayuran Ratneswaran in the final.
Eucalypta Bradley and Emma Horrix continue to go from strength to strength in the girls’ category, putting in impressive displays in both the cadets and junior competitions.
