Kats win in eight-goal thriller

Women’s Football

Greater London League
Division Two North
East Barnet 3, Katabella 5

KATABELLA made it two wins in three games on Sunday when they came out on top in an eight-goal thriller against East Barnet.
The Kats took the lead through Jen Coupland, but in a topsy-turvy first half hosts East Barnet hit back with two quick-fire goals.
The visitors turned the game back in their favour thanks to a strike from Helen Frazer and Coupland’s second of the game but again Barnet equalised to tie the scores at 3-3 at half time.
With Ewa Holender and Polly Buckle working tirelessly in defence, Katabella pushed forward in search of victory.
Captain Amy Lamont led by example when she put the Kats back in front with a spectacular lob, before sub Jasmin Crilly made the game safe with a well-placed header.

Hat-trick of wins

Home Counties Girls’ League

HAMPSTEAD picked up a hat-trick of wins at the weekend in their respective age categories of the Home Counties League.
On Saturday the club’s under-10s side defeated north London rivals Tottenham 2-0 thanks to goals from Kayleigh Brennan and Chloe Kimberlin.
Hampstead’s under-11s repeated the success down to the letter, with goals from Charlotte Matthews and Catherine Dunn sealing another 2-0 win over Spurs.
In the under-13s age group, captain Peace Cole led Hampstead girls to their biggest win of the weekend as she scored a hat-trick against Denham Wildcats.
Yasmin Roudsari bagged a brace, while Eda Demirelay was also on target in a 6-2 victory.
