Soji shines as UK’s best young blade
WILLIAM Ellis schoolboy Soji Aiyenuro has been crowned the best young fencer in the country after winning the 2009 UK School Games, held in Cardiff.
The skilful sabreur, who lives in Belsize Park, overcame Henry Walker 15-14 in a thrilling final to take the title.
Soji then joined Camden Fencing Club team-mate Curtis Miller to lead England to victory over Scotland in the team event.
With two gold medals, Soji said: “I’m extremely happy, this is one of my biggest achievements so far.” |
