David Cameron meets George Lee |
Hot seat: Tory fighting talk on Cameron visit
DAVID Cameron claimed the Tories have a realistic chance of beating Holborn and St
Pancras’s Labour MP Frank Dobson during a visit to Bloomsbury on Tuesday.
The Conservative leader shook hands with general election candidate George Lee while visiting the Imagination Centre in Store Street.
Accompanied by William Hague, Mr Cameron used the visit to announce plans to cut ministerial salaries and MP perks. Afterwards he said: “I firmly believe Holborn and St Pancras is a seat we can win.”
The Tories have traditionally struggled to make an impression against Mr Dobson.
Mr Lee, a former police chief, said: “I joined the Conservative Party to change the way we do politics. This is an area where change can and must happen.”
The Lib Dem candidate for the seat Jo Shaw was also out campaigning this week, calling for streets in King’s Cross to be given a 20-mile-per-hour speed limit. |

LUCKY for us the Tories don't stand a chance here. They came a poor third place last time. Voting Tory is not just a wasted vote, it's a vote for a party that supported the illegal Iraq war, introduced the Poll Tax, wants to privatise our health services and closed thousands of post offices when they were in power.
