Blues and jazz bar for High Street

A CAMDEN Town premises which closed following police complaints of disturbance is to reopen again as a blues and jazz bar.
The former Oh! Bar in Camden High Street is to become Blues Kitchen following a £500,000 refurbishment.
New owners, Blues Kitchen Ltd, who also run the Westbury in Kilburn, said they want the place to be more focused on food in the day and have a softer edge than its predecessors.
Last Wednesday Camden’s licensing chiefs granted permission for increased capacity to 230 people, and to 265 when tables and chairs are removed. Licensing councillor Ben Rawlings said: “For me they said it’s a culture change and we have to hope and trust it will happen.”
Peter Glazebrook, the venue’s solicitor, said: “These premises clearly had some problems in the past. Blues gives the clue as to what we’re trying to provide – previously it was much harder-edged.”
