Funding talks on mosque extension

TOWN Hall officials are in talks with users of a mosque in King’s Cross about funding an extension to the building.
The mosque, in the basement of a council housing block in Cromer Street, is so popular that at Friday prayers some worshippers are forced to use a car park next door. It hopes to raise funds and receive financial help from the Town Hall to cover a 10-space car park – allowing those going to pray to do so without having to go outside.
Labour King’s Cross councillor Jonathan Simpson, who has been helping liaise between mosque elders and the council, said the Muslim population in the area were in need of new facilities.
He added: “This is a very popular and successful mosque that also acts as a community centre for the area. It needs more space.
“We plan to talk to the people living there and gauge their views, but so many people use the mosque and currently have to pray in the wet and cold. This would help solve an urgent need.”

I THINK they should pay for their own mosque.
