Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 6 August 2009

For hire: a cabbie’s kindness – no charge

• HUMANITY, goodness and trust are still alive and well, whatever we say. Last Tuesday afternoon (July 28), I purchased an item from Help the Aged in Kentish Town Road that was far too large for the bus. Hence, a good old London Black Cab was in order.
A young driver helped me unload at my home in Croftdown Road and was then off – before I could pay him! All I got was a wave of his hand.
Finally, Steve, the manager at Help the Aged had already trusted me to pay him later as I had wanted to keep the cash I had on me so I could pay for the taxi.
Need I say more?
LESLIE BOVINGDON
