Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 16 July 2009

Hampstead against BNP

• I WAS disgusted by comments made by BNP leader, Nick Griffin earlier this week, when he suggested that immigrants to the UK should be sent to live with the “liberal Hampstead elite” to “see how they like it”.
He is clearly unaware of the hugely important role that immigrants have played in making Hampstead such a vibrant and successful area.
We need to counter the growing BNP threat by publicly making the case for immigration, and I am glad to see that Mark Spiro, an independent candidate for Hampstead Town ward in the local elections of May 2010, has already denounced Griffin’s comments and pledged to continue challenging the neo-fascist movement from the position of councillor, should he be elected.
