Cheap call

• I WAS distressed but not surprised to read about the poor lady who could not get help from using her CareLine pendant.
In desperation she rang 999 and the police came to her aid. I suspect her call had been intercepted by the call centre, a so-called money-saving device, introduced by the council. The only money saved was from CareLine workers being sacked.
