‘Strangler’ brothers found guilty of robbing affluent women

TWO brothers were yesterday (Wednesday) convicted of a string of “strangler” robberies on women in the borough’s most affluent areas – but one was cleared of an attack which left fashion designer Nicole Fahri unconscious outside her Hampstead home.
Matthew Mykoo, 27, from Willesden, was found guilty of seven other robberies.
His brother Daniel, 28, from Fulham, admitted his part in 19 robberies, including last April’s attack on Ms Fahri, 62. She had told Wood Green Crown Court: “One hand came on to my eyes, the other on to my throat – he squeezed and I fainted. My last thought was how stupid to die in front of my house.”
The brothers were linked to 22 robberies in which women were grabbed from behind, strangled until they passed out, and robbed of jewellery.
Daniel Mykoo pleaded guilty to attacks in Cricklewood Broadway, West End Lane, Frognal, Belsize Park Gardens and Avenue Road.
Yesterday, police revealed how a VW car stolen in one robbery was used in subsequent attacks, tying the brothers to several cases.
Detective Constable Reg Pickering, of Barnet CID, said: “The level of violence used in these attacks is extremely unusual. We were pleased to recover some particularly sentimental items of jewellery to their rightful owners as a result of visiting a number of pawn shops.”
