Test of blood and nerves
• I AM 62, disabled, and live in sheltered accommodation.
I have many health problems. Two weeks ago, I received a letter from my GP, which noticed that, my last blood test showed raised glucose and I needed a blood test.
I made an appointment for Friday June 12 at 9.30am. At 8.45am I went out of my flat to my car, which I parked two days before in a blue badge parking area.
Unfortunately the car would not move and a man knocked on the window and told me all my car tyres had been slashed.
I became nervous, stressed out, and confused. In the end I left the car because the blood test was important.
I was late and had to explain to the nurse what had happened. However, she told me I needed another test after two hours. I was fasting and had to continue until the second test.
I went back to home, notified my insurance company, then I go back to the surgery.
Later, back home again, I saw an RAC van and the engineer told me the tyres must be replaced.
Why don’t we older and disabled people have more help in Camden? Night police patrols would help in reducing crime. I am afraid to park my car in the same spot, right outside my flat. Instead I am now force to park it further away and walk back down to my place. This situation could have been easily avoided had there been a police patrol or more cameras.
