Outburst chief took new role

A MENTAL health chief who resigned because of “tiredness” took a new job in Camden’s healthcare services the following day, it was revealed this week.
Professor David Taylor stepped down as chairman of Camden and Islington Foundation Trust at the end of March after losing his temper with a service user in October last year.
He blamed his outburst on the “full-time” demands of a part-time post and “the extent of [his] commitments” as a university lecturer.
But Camden NHS announced this week the former chairman had accepted a new role as a non-executive member on its board, effective from April 1, the day after he left his mental health trust job because of the workload. In his new post he will ensure services are fully accountable and public funds spent properly.
Professor Taylor said he was looking forward to contributing to the continued success of NHS Camden.
