Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 14 May 2009

Beware of the BNP

• NOW there is so much disgust with politicians for not doing what they say they do and cheating their expenses, reneging on promises to the public and taxing by stealth and all the other accusations hurled at them, the public might well be loath to vote at all, let alone vote for traditional parties. This is the worst scenario we could have.
If any conditions were favourable for a fascist result in parliament and in Europe, it is just this. Without votes for traditional parties there will most definitely be a rise in votes for the BNP. This is a real danger in the run-up to the June 4 Euro-elections.
If you doubt the troubling nature of this party you should know what they say on their leaflets distributed in vulnerable neighbourhoods where people are disenchanted with living in poverty and housing decay.
