Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 7 May 2009

Parking is far from fine

• AS residents of a neighbouring borough, we frequently use Camden roads but are terrified of the parking regime, and so rarely stop if we can help it.
Today, I took my teenage son to watch school mates in a band contest, outside the Roundhouse at Chalk Farm. I carefully and, as far as I could make out after checking all signs, legally parked my car a few minutes after noon on a Saturday afternoon, and left a valid pay & display parking ticket on the vehicle windscreen in clear view.
I returned to the car with 5 minutes to spare to find the dreaded yellow plastic envelope. I now have to go through the hassle of appeal etc. The parking regime is widely regarded as the worst in London. Shame on Camden! I will look for entertainment in other boroughs in future.
