Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 23 April 2009

Taking care?

• AFTER reading your piece on the search for replacement waste depots, (Town Hall land sales allowed £140m contract to fall into sap of waste giant, April 16) following the sell-off due to the privatisation of the street cleaning service, we can only hope that the “Town Hall” has learnt by its mistakes when it comes to deciding the future of the Camden housing caretaking, which they plan to part privatise.
We are concerned that given the opportunity the Veolia monopoly would happily swallow up the whole service, resulting in a poor, unaccountable, service with disastrous long-term consequences for both our residents as well as our colleagues.
