Fumble! Canada won’t touch down in UK

THE London Blitz’s new season has suffered a setback before it has even started.
The club were due to play Team Canada this weekend in an eagerly awaited pre-season game at Finsbury Park. But with less than a week’s notice, the travelling Canadian team have pulled out of the match owing to administrative difficulties.
Blitz chairman Robin Pierce said: “We seem doomed not to face any foreign opposition in any of our pre-season plans after last year’s expensive and fruitless trip to play the Templiers D’Elancourt in France.”
The Blitz now look set to miss out on a pre-season challenge as they prepare for their season opener in Bristol on May 3.
