Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 2 April 2009

Out of place

• I SUPPORT all those who want to retain the wonderful Judd fountains, but feel they will be as out of place in Whitestone Pond as they were at the busy intersection of Charing Cross Road, New Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road where no one could enjoy them without risking life and limb.
At least Centre Point was of the period. Whitestone is a modest horse pond and milestone marking the way from the country into the London live stock markets. It’s more 1860s than 1960s and would look ridiculous sporting those fountains. Other sites, such as at the Commonwealth Institute, would be more in keeping.
