Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 2 April 2009

Helped by ‘Big Brother’

WHILE Google’s new Street View service may catch a few people unawares (including one being arrested on the street) it isn’t all doom and gloom as is being reported.
This past week, while having some walls repainted, the fluorescent light in the kitchen blew out. Asking the painter if he knew anywhere in the area where I might be able to pick one up, he thought there was an electrical wholesaler near the Holloway Odeon.
Instead of aimlessly wandering around trying to find the store, I logged on to Street View and located the store. Further to that, the phone number was on the outside of the store so I was able to call, confirm they had the bulb I was after and what time they were open.
Google Street View... a success story!
