Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 2 April 2009

Need to get tough on those basement plans

• WE vote for councillors – not officers of the council (Town Hall ‘duped’ on basement planning, March 26).
Councillors should get their ruling on the three-metre limit ratified as soon as possible and stick to their decision.
I grew up near the street pictured in your paper. The proposed works would probably cause subsidence in its already delicate state.
I feel very sorry for Matthew Wright (pictured) and for all of his neighbours. They have to go through the noise and disruption they have just been through with another property in the same street. Cinema and gymnasium indeed!
CLAIRE DALGLISH
Frederick Street, WC1
