Stars take on rowers

A MIXED team of the borough’s sporting stars joined forces on Tuesday to compete in the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships at Battersea.
Competing in a field of 168 rowers, Ayla Jaggs of South Hampstead School was the star of the show as she won bronze in the girls’ Year 8 race.
Sissy Bridge covered 1,443 metres in her six-minute time trial to finish in 22nd place in the girls’ Year 11 event.
In the Year 7 race Sophia Parvizi-Wayne was leading the two-minute trial, but ended up sixth overall after falling off her machine.
In the boys’ Year 10 event, Ashley St Ange of Acland Burghley School put in a creditable display to finish 33rd.
