The Hill under-9s
Final push to grab the silverware

SCORES of trophy-chasing footballers from across Camden and Islington were out in force this week to enjoy one final push to win silverware this season.
Among the early winners were The Hill, who stormed to victory in the Camden and Regent’s Park Challenge Cup on Saturday. The triumphant under-9s team showed tremendous skill and style to overcome Queen’s Park Sharks in the final.
Leon Morris opened the scoring with a stunning volley before sharp-shooter Oliver Burton took centre stage with two clinical finishes to wrap up a 3-0 win.
The Hill’s under-11s side were also celebrating after being crowned league champions. Goals from Finn Harbour, Gabriel Ware and Chikka Onwuanibe saw the Primrose Hill-based side beat London Tigers 3-1 to clinch the title for the third year in a row.
Hampstead’s under-8s side rounded off a unbeaten campaign with a 2-2 draw against Angel. Johnny Novak and Darnell Luke twice gave Hampstead Eagles the lead, but Angel battled back to earn a deserved share of the spoils.
After the game Hampstead manager Tracy Dowsett said: “I’m really proud of the whole team. This was our very first season playing together and the boys did extremely well.”
Elsewhere skipper Kahari Valarie and top scorer Terryl Nathan-Harding helped lead South Hampstead FC to the title in the Under-15s League. Managed by Martin Lovejoy, the talented side have now won the championships for three years in a row.
Meanwhile Somers Town are just one game a way from glory after reaching the final of the Cheshunt League Cup.
The under-13s side twice came from behind to beat Chase Side Youth 3-2, thanks to strikes from Bill Foster, Jordy Zumbu and Saleh Abubakar.
