A silver lining for fencers

SWASHBUCKLING duo Ben Stezaker and Ava Martinez-Lambert both scooped silver in their latest outing for Camden Fencing Club at the weekend.
Competing in the Eton Leon Paul Junior Series Foil Tournament, Ava put in a barnstorming performance as Camden’s only entry in the girls’ under-13s age group.
Ben claimed the runners-up spot in the boys’ under-9s competition, while team-mate Jack Baigneres finished in the last eight. The Camden contingent more than held their own in one of the largest events on the junior circuit. Bren Stevenson Grimberg and Alex Howe both put in improved displays to reach the final eight of the boys’ under-11s age group while Isobel Clark echoed that success as she made the last eight of the girls’ under-11s, while Zara Ali reached the last 16.
