Focusing on football fun

YOUNG stars from two top primary schools were celebrating on Tuesday after being crowned champions in the grand finals of the Camden Schools Sports Association Football League.
The all-conquering girls’ team from Torriano School in Kentish Town remained unbeaten as they overcame New End 2-0 in the final to get their hands on the winners’ shield.
Meanwhile in the boys’ competition, Holy Trinity School in Chalk Farm also beat Hampstead-based rivals New End 2-1 in a thrilling contest, which was held at the Talacre Community Sports Centre in Kentish Town.
Overall, the day proved a huge success, with all eight teams who qualified for the finals playing some scintillating and skillful football.
There was also a special mention for Jason Mbuima of St Aloysius School, who was presented with the Fair Play Award.
